Your ‘One Stop Shop’ for online gambling
This is a review about Betfair Casino & Sportsbook as always it’s very important that all casinos that I recommend are completely safe and trusted. Betfair is no exception, for you who are not familiar with Betfair, its good to know it’s one of the worlds biggest sportsbooks!
What welcome bonus suits you?
The casino welcome bonus is a deposit offer which will give you €200 extra to play for and 200 free spins. The wager requirement is set at x30 which means you need to wager the bonus 30 times before you can withdraw any winnings. 30 times is low to medium among other Indian casinos and can, therefore, be considered a quite valuable bonus offer.
You need to deposit a minimum €10 to activate the cash bonus and additional money to redeem all the free spins:
- 10-50 euro. = 50 free spins
- 51-100 euro = 100 free spins
- 101-200 euro = 200 free spins
Another positive comment about the wagering requirement for Betfair online casino bonus is that Roulette & Blackjack games contribute 50% to the wagering requirement. Usually, it’s between 0-10%, just look at Kaiser Slots for example. Here’s the full breakdown:
- All slot games 100%
- Blackjack and Roulette (Virtual & Live) 50%
- Card games 0%
- Roulette bets with middle risk 0%*
You may also activate the offer from Betfair internet casino with any payment method as you wish (see the section further down), including E-wallets, which are usually banned due to bonus abusing.
On top of this, I recommend you to check out your inbox or/and the campaign page for casino players at Betfair since they often cross-sell promotions between Casino & Sportsbook. At the moment of writing (February 2019) you can get €5 free in the Sportsbook if you play in the Live Casino.
To summarize the casino bonus: 5 thumbs up!
Betfair sports bonus – Don’t forget the bonus code!
If there is something I am good at, then it is to read Terms & Conditions, if you want some proof just look how I dissected Vera & John’s T&C’s.
After you have signed up and verified your account you have to click on “My Account” and activate the bonus offer. It’s easy to do, but also easy to forget. Once activated you can deposit from €10 to €100 to get 100% extra money. So if you deposit €100. from your own wallet, Betfair will reward you with €100. in bonus money.
Here are the specifics you need to care about once you start betting with the bonus:
- You can only activate the bonus with a deposit made with a credit card or PayPal.
- You are only allowed to use the bonus on odds at or above 1.8.
- You need to wager the amount four times (x4) before you can withdraw your winnings.
- You can NOT use the bonus for slot games 🙁
You need to wager your bonus money within 90 days or it will be forfeited, but this is common among both Sportsbooks and casinos in India (apart from the new casino Goliath which has 60 days).
Betfair Poker bonus
At Betfair Poker the currency is in Euros and not Rupees. This is because you are playing against an international community of online poker players. Hence the bonus offer is also in Euros.
The “main” bonus is a 200% deposit bonus up to €1 000. Once you sign up you to make a deposit of minimum €100 to activate the welcome offer. The package consists of:
- 200 % deposit bonus up to € 1.000
- Get up to 100 Wild Twister-tokens within your first 90 days.
- €5 Multi-Table tournament tokens
- €10 bonus på Casino Slots
- Betfair exclusive welcome missions
You will receive 200% of your first deposit or transfer to the Poker account as bonus money. For example, if you deposit € 100, you get € 200 in bonus.
Selection of casino games & slot machines
If you have read my casino blog before you might remember when I reviewed Intercasino and I called it something like a “soulless German ginger kid”. There is something which happens with gambling websites when they are stock listed, just like Betfair. Whenever someone says “stock listed” I think about grey-haired men in suits who are drinking Martini and has a non-existing relation to their wife & kids.
So I decided to browse onto Betfair corporate website where I found the following slogan:
We run some of the world’s most exciting online sports betting and gaming brands, powered by sophisticated in-house technology, innovative products and creative marketing and sporting partnerships.
Two things I would like to comment on this statement:
- We run some of the worlds most exciting…
- …innovative products…
Fake news! Let me explain to you why.
Why the slots machines are “FAKE NEWS!”
If you go into the casino section of Betfair you will find 77 online slot games from… Hold it… Hold it…!
From 1 slot game provider: Playtech
With the risk of getting a bit nerdy now the Betfair online casino is built on a software platform developed by Playtech. Playtech is just like Betfair also listed on the London Stock Exchange and their slot portfolio is equally as boring as their company. There is nothing “innovative” or “exciting” about Playtech.
Once you flick over to the Casino tab of Betfair you have 77 slot games you can play for free or for real money after signing up. Over the years I have reviewed close to 700 slot machines and only two of them have been Playtech slots: Bounty of the Beanstalk & Aces and Faces. Two horrible games with boring mathematics and bad graphics.
Although Playtech has produced several 100’s of online slots, yet despite the massive diversity, some of the Playtech machines share very similar features. These games do not use coins, instead, they allow the players to directly choose the wager per payline. This makes Playtech games among the most simple as you wouldn’t have to constantly keep track of the number of coins used during the play. The typical wagers range from €0.01. to €5. per line.
Therefore its a big thumb down for Betfairs selection of slot machines. I don’t like to trash the online casinos I am reviewing so, therefore, I would like to mention that Bet365, William Hill and Paddy Power are equally shitty since they are on the same Playtech platform.
Are the table games “Fake NEWS!” too?
Well, they are also hosted by Playtech, however, the number of virtual table games are quite high compared to other classic Indian casinos such as Royal Panda. Betfair has the following:
- x12 Blackjack games
- x6 Video poker games
- x5 Roulette games
- …and x1 “Frankie Dettori Roulette” which is a special Roulette version of the FOBT-game with the same name. Hugely popular in the UK, but… India?
‘Live Casino powered by Playtech’
If you have ever played at casinos powered by Playtech before you might know what I will say next, otherwise here comes some nerdier in-depth information about Playtech and Live Casinos.
Did you know Playtech has a special clause in their Live Casino contract that if you decide to purchase their online live games you are not allowed to take in any other suppliers of games?
That’s how it is anyway and that’s why you won’t see any of the most popular online Live Casino providers such as Evolution or Extreme Live Gaming. Compare this to LeoVegas or Mr Green which has over 10 different Live game providers.
Back to Betfair and the experience of playing in their Live Casino. The selection of games is on par with other Indian live casinos with Live Roulette/Blackjack/Baccarat/Texas Hold’em. There’s also a range of different live dealer tables and betting levels. Betfair also has their own dedicated tables allowed for only Betfair players. The studios are clean, dealers are professional and the interface of betting and communication works well.
Poker & Sportsbetting
I am sorry but I am not the right person to review these product categories. I don’t believe I would make a fair adjustment and therefore recommends my friends below to help you:
Playing at Betfair through 4.7″ screen
The mobile experience is very good at Betfair! You can easily navigate between the sections of the website and it loads fast. You can also play the full selection of Playtech slot machines with an Android or iPhone, as well as streaming HD-Live Casino over a 4G connection. In the mobile, you have some additional quick navigation buttons at the bottom as well.
There’s also a Betfair app you can download for iPhone at the App Store or at their website for Android users. Playing through the app makes the mobile experience even faster than using your Safari or Chrome mobile browser.
Money matters – Payment methods
Finally, its time to shine for Betfair because their payment methods are actually really good. Let’s have a closer look at deposits & withdrawals.
If you have read an of my other reviews, you know I strongly recommend to use e-wallets, as an Indian player it may be tricky to deposit but even trickier to withdrawal – using a e-wallet, these worries are out of your world and you can focus on what you want to do; play in the casino!
The minimum withdrawal limit is the lowest I have seen in my life of online gambling, hands down for Betfair! Usually, a casino has €10. and usually adds a 2.25% fee for credit card withdrawals, such as Vera & John for example.
But just like any other internet casino; make sure you withdraw with the same option as you deposited with. This is due to anti-money laundering reasons and not because the Customer Support wants to turn your day sour.
You can make a deposit with the following payment options without any added fees:
- VISA & Mastercard
But Betfair does not recommend you to use PayPal as a deposit method if you…
- Have connected your Mastercard to your PayPal account
- If you are selling items on platforms such as eBay.
- If you have had an American Express card connected to your PayPal account.
Then you’re suggested to use something else.
When I played at Betfair I had no issues withdrawing my money and did not have to contact customer support. But from what I can find on there website they do have a phone number, live chat as well as an email where you can contact them on.
Apart from Live Chat, you can also:
- Call them at +44 20 3059 8888 sometime between 10:00 til 18:30.
- Or send an email at [email protected]
Why you should sign up at Betfair
Because all in all Betfair is not a bad casino, even if their selection of online casino games is quite small. Playing at Betfair is like owning a Toyota. It’s not a car with a character such as an Alfa Romeo but it will take you from A to B and you will have space for mother-in-law in the backseat.
If you are a versatile gambler who likes poker, sports betting and casino it’s a good place to open an account – its a “one-stop shop” for online gambling. The bonus T&C’s are fair and the payment methods are without issues, which is essentially what you need to have a good experience. But only because you have an account at Betfair it doesn’t mean you cannot open another account somewhere else.
I recommend you to make a small commitment and try out the welcome bonus. If you had a good experience, continue playing. If not – wave Good Bye to Betfair just like I did to my dreadful hair cut a couple of years ago…
