Slot Guide – How to win Part 2
How to win playing online slot machines
Part two and the final part in this slot machine strategies series of how to win at slot machines (you can read part one here), after gone through several ways to increase the entertainment by using different strategies playing slot machines with real money. It’s time to move over to slot strategies when playing with a deposit bonus, where you actually will make money.
In this guide, I will cover how to win at slots playing with a bonus. You are probably thinking I’m just one of these Fitness guys you see on youtube or facebook, who has “developed” a new way to lose fat, get abs, without having to go to the gym – all you need to do is to eat a new, expensive, health bar. You and I both know that these health bars won’t work and that they taste disgusting!
But, there is a big difference between me and those health guys, who I by the way like to call bro-science guys. The following strategy is based on math – I’ve tried it and it does work. It’s simple math and I will break down for you and explain how it works.
Beating the Casino
Trying to beat the casino – is what we all are trying to do when playing any type of casino game. A desire that has been a popular subject in of pop-culture since the dawn of Bollywood and Hollywood. Movies like 21, Casino and James Bond are all trying to beat the casino. But you and I are not about to count cards or play poker as they do in the movies above. We are going to play online casinos aggressive bonus offering against themselves and in that way get ahead of them.
The Deposit bonus Strategy
Out of all strategies before, this is the only strategy that you can make money on. However I do not recommend you to use it as if a Casino notice and they will, they will ban you and freeze your winnings.
Mathematically – how does this work?
What you need:
- Bonus: Deposit Bonus 200% or 100% ideally, the higher the better. But anything as low as 50% work.
- Wagering Requirement: Of max 50 times the bonus. Anything above is not worth your time.
You will find both here at G2G and our list of recommended Indian online casinos:[shortcode with 3 recommended casino]
Are you familiar with the term Expected value? The expected value is a formula used to calculate the value of a bonus. By using this formula, you can easily calculate whether or not the bonus will give you an edge against the casino. This is very important to remember. It’s not the games or how you play – it’s the deposit bonus that gives you the edge against the casino.
What it doesn’t matter how I play?
Well, it does – but only to a certain extent. And that’s something I will cover soon. But first, let’s go through expected value in detail.
Expected Value of a deposit bonus
To be able to calculate the Expected value of the bonus. We need three variables. The deposit bonus. The Wagering requirement and the house edge.
Well, that probably doesn’t make much sense. So let me exemplify:
- Bonus: 100% deposit bonus up to ₹10,000
- Wager Requirement: 35 times bonus
- House Edge: Slot machine online has an average of 96% – this gives the house 4% in house edge
If you would maximise the bonus and make a deposit of ₹10,000. It gives you a balance of a total of ₹20,000. You will have to wager through ₹35,000 before you can withdrawal. The house edge is 0.04 (4%).
With this example, the EV formula would look like this:
As you can see you would in average earn ₹600 on every 100% deposit bonus you take.
But there is one important aspect in this formula missing – Volatility. If you have read my how slot machine work guide. You will remember I wrote that volatility was the main ingredient in a slot that allowed us to win short-term.
Now you have the edge against the online gambling site. Which means the volatility will not be in your favour, it will be in favour of the Casino – making you lose in the short term, but you will win long term. As we know the RTP ni average for a slot machine is 96% – but short term it may be a lot higher but most often a lot lower.
There are ways to balance the volatility though, which lets me segway into the next section of the guide.
How to play slots with deposit bonus
It’s time to learn how to play online slot machines with deposit bonus – how you choose to bet in the games will affect the result. You can actually decide how volatile you want this strategy to be. The destiny is in your hands, young padawan!
I’ve from my own experience when used this strategy developed three betting strategies for you. I’ve named them: The Slow and steady, The sophisticated and the most volatile of them all – The ruthless!
The premise for all three strategies are the same, you will need the following:
- Which Slot Machines to play
- What The Volatility
- The Bet size and Bet patterns
The Slow and steady betting strategy
There is a saying, that goes:
Slow and steady wins the race
This is the most time-consuming strategy but also the one with the lowest volatility which almost always guarantees you to cash out.
Slot Machines: With the highest RTP. Below are examples:
- Mega Joker – 99%
- Nemos Voyage – 99%
- Ooh Aah Dracula – 99%
- 1429 Uncharted sea – 98.60%
- Blood Suckers – 98%
- Starmania – 97.87%
These game have an incredible high RTP and in a matter of fact most of the casinos do not offer them any longer, or if they do offer them – make sure to check the T&C’s as most of the time any wagers on these slot games may either contribution less % towards the wagering requirement or nothing at all.
The volatility: As low as possible. It will still work with Medium volatile video slots but your swing will be bigger – making your odds to reach the wagering requirement and withdrawal worse.
Betting Pattern: It’s simple, all you need to do is to play at minimum stake until you met the wagering requirement. This will take time, a lot of it, up to 5-7 hours, sometimes even 12 hours – of non-stop playing even longer. You can shorten the time by increasing your bet if you want, but the swings will be bigger as what you effectively do is to increase the volatility. Next up!
The Sophisticated Betting Strategy
It’s actually not that sophisticated, but I thought it sounded cool. And it’s a bit more complicated compared to the other two strategies.
It’s more volatile than the first strategy. You will in average lose in about 1 of every 4 casinos you play at, but the in the 4th casino you will win big enough to cover the losses from before.
So the name comes from the fact this Strategy is divided into two parts. The first part is how to play with the starting balance. The second part is when you win big.
Step 1: With your starting balance:
Slot Machines: The RTP does not matter, but the slots, I have played with and recommend are:
- Secrets of Atlantis
- Twin Spin
- Raging Rhino
- Pink Elephants
- Dead or Alive
- Lucky Angler
- Thunderstruck 2
The Volatility: Medium to High. Remember, the higher volatility the game has the bigger are the swings you will experience. I usually play on Thunderstruck 2 (medium), Warlords (medium/high), Twin Spin (medium) or Secrets of Atlantis (medium).
Bet Size / Bet Pattern: What should the bet size be? It depends on your starting balance.
- With a total balance 40,000, I would bet between 300-500 per spin
- With 20,000 on the account, I would recommend between 200-300 per spin
- And with 10,000, I would bet 100-200 per spin
Pick a bet size and keep to it. Play until you have lost everything or you win big.
Step 2: You won Big
I wouldn’t start step 2 until I won so I have x3 my initial bonus amount.
Slot Machine: You change to a super low volatile slot machine or with really high RTP – preferably both. Here is an example of games:
- Aloha (may feel high volatile, but it’s not)
- Blood Suckers
- 1429 Uncharted sea
- Well of Wonders
Bet size/Bet Pattern: Back in the days, I would change the bet level to play at minimum stake, but most online casinos today, have added to their bonus T&C’s that changing bet sizes to smaller or minimum stake after a big win is considered unjust use of the bonus. Breaching it and they may take your winnings. Thus I recommend you to keep the same bet size as before for the first 50-100 spins, and then reduce it by 50-70% for the remaining of playing through the wagering requirement. You can also play with the same bet until you have wagered through the bonus but… yes, you guessed it, it will be more volatile which means bigger swings!
The Ruthless Betting Strategy
This is the one I use today. Mainly because I play for fun and to try out new slot machines and casinos and entertainment, and if I happen to make an extra buck – it’s great, but it’s not the reason I play. When I started out as a way to earn extra cash!
So how do you play the ruthless?
- Slot Machines: Well pick any game of your choice!
- Volatility: Preferably medium or high-volatile.
- Bet size/Bet pattern: The same as for sophisticated betting strategy. I would do around 300-400 on 20.000 in bonus.
The only difference here compared to the sophisticated is that you never change the bet size, you continue with the same bet size until you either cash out or lost your money. If you win big you can even increase your bet size.
The ruthless is by far the most volatile of the strategies – but in the long run – you will win. That’s a fact. You will have huge swings. I’ve lost over 100,000 in deposits before it turned around and I started to win back money and eventually was plus.
Thus a big bankroll is important and I say wrote in the beginning, if you want to test any of these strategies out – make sure you do it with money you can afford to lose as it’s none of these 3 variations guarantees cash out!
Over and out, may the slot gods be with you!
G2G don’t guarantee that this will work. Remember if you try out to do it with money you can afford losing.
