This really could be the ultimate slot of them all

The Family Guy slot boasts top-class graphics, audio, clips and endless bonus features in addition to six Jackpots. It makes it a must for fans of the hit TV show and also for any slots fans who love a world-class game.

Family Guy slot up there with the very best

It’s amazing the things you can find when searching for old treasures in your attic. Gold-plated teacups, old-fashioned watches with chains, silver earrings, the Family Guy slot. Er, come again?

Yeah, that’s right. When looking through some of our old(ish) mobile slots in our G2G casino attic, I came across this absolute gem of a game.

Based on the multi-award winning TV show, one of the most popular in the world, this is a rather unique work of art in that it’s both a Progressive Jackpot slot and one which has just about more bonus features than any other I’ve ever reviewed at G2G. Yeah, even more than Red Riding Hood. And yeah, I didn’t know that was possible, either.

Family Guy slot the brilliant work of IGT

The history behind the Family Guy mobile slot is that it started life as a land-based Casino game before being released as an online version in 2012.

Given that Family Guy is one of the biggest franchises in the world, it was always going to be a big responsibility for whoever made it to replicate the humour and magic of the show into a video slot. But when in doubt, go with IGT. The Nevada-based slot suppliers, who made the likes of Cleopatra Plus and Wolf Run MegaJackpot, are famous for being just about the most innovative and experimental of all the operators making casino games, and it’s fair to say that the franchise made a brilliant decision here. Innovation, inspiration and imagination are very much on show here as we’re about to discuss.

Of course, it’s not the first slot to be made from a TV show. Other examples of popular shows that were made into games include Beverly Hills 90210 but I’d be lying if I said any of them are as good as this one. And I don’t want to lie. I’ll leave that to lawyers, politicians and estate agents to do.

One of the great things about the G2G slot-review team is that we’re all buddies. It’s rare that we fall out about anything. But it almost happened over Family Guy.

Amongst us, we had about 20 different theories and this resulted in about 30 different arguments. The issue? We don’t have a problem with Stewie talking and wanting to rule the world despite the fact he’s only a baby. But why the hell does he talk in a posh English accent?

All the main characters are there

The Family Guy show is based around a typical working-class American family struggling with the demands of everyday life and the chaos that ensues when frustration gets the better of you when everything just falls apart. I won’t go into too much detail here because you can just go online and watch an episode yourself if you’ve never seen it before. But it’s worth pointing out this is political incorrectness at its best and that it’s a show that can offend some people. Actually, it can offend many people.

And so can the Family Guy slot for that matter.

A family of Symbols

All the main characters from the show are symbols in the slot so that includes Peter, Lois, Brian, Stewie, Meg and Chris. There are other symbols there that you’ll recognize from the show, such as Stewie’s Teddy.

The Wild symbol is the Family Guy icon and it replaces any other symbols excluding the Scatter to help you win. The Scatter is the World Bonus symbol and it can only appear on Reels 2, 3 and 4. Why is called World Bonus? You’ll find out in a minute.

In the base game, the paylines pay from left to right like in most games and Peter and Lois are the most valuable symbols. Above the reels, different characters take turns to appear and each one is armed with their favourite catchphrase. It doesn’t actually affect the game but it’s just another fun element to the whole thing.

Audio to sing for

The audio and sound effects are remarkable, even by IGT’s standards, including playing the theme tune in the background and a running commentary during the Chicken Fight bonus round.

As ever with any IGT slot game, it’s just as good on mobile as it is on desktop so play it wherever or whenever you like. Such as when you’re watching an episode of…Family Guy. Or be a family guy by playing the Family Guy slot with your wife while lying on the beach, while talking about Family Guy.

Chicken Fight feature unlike anything you’ve seen before

I’m now going to talk about how to play the Family Guy slot in terms of features. When I said it had a lot of them, I wasn’t exaggerating. Just like I wasn’t exaggerating when I called Donald Trump a…well, you can imagine what I called him.

But there really are a lot of them and some of them are quite complex so I’ll be a bit briefer than usual with them. After all, you have other things to do. Like reading more free to play slot reviews.

Griffin Family Features

At random times, one of the characters will appear to the left of the reels to help you out. Well, except Megan of course. Even the slot-makers give that poor girl a hard time.

  • Peter’s feature: Get between 200x and 500x the value of your coin.
  • Stewie’s feature: Three Wild symbols appear on the reels to help you win.
  • Lois’s feature: One to three of the Griffin family member symbols are shown and will be awarded according to the symbols shown.
  • Brian’s feature: One or two of the world bonus symbols will appear on reels 3 or 4 and this helps you trigger the World Bonus feature.
  • Chris’ feature: Any symbol anywhere on the reels can instantly become a Wild symbol.

World Bonus feature

Three Scatters anywhere on Reels 2, 3 and 4 and you’re in. But remember that Chris’ feature (see above) can also help you get in. In the show, one of the jokes is that baby Stewie is eager for evil world domination and that’s what this feature is all about. You’ll see him playing with a globe and when he spins it, you’ll get one of three features within the feature.

Chicken Fight

Peter takes to the boxing ring against his arch-nemesis, the Giant Chicken. Choose which of the two you think will win and then watch them trying to do horrendous things to each other which includes real clips from the show of their epic battles. There are several ways you can win lots of coins during this round.

Drunken Clam

Everyone needs to chill out sometimes, especially if you have the sort of family that Peter does. And when that’s needed, Peter heads to the Drunken Clam bar to sink a few cold ones with his buddies.

Choose from one of four characters hanging out there and that’s your man when it comes to trying to be last man standing in a big drinking session. Pick your beer tap of choice to win extra coins and there will even be a Multiplier to help you if one of the characters passes out at the end of each round (get it, round?). As long as it’s not you passing out!

Lois’ Hot Spins

This one’s all about ‘the missus’. You get 10 free spins to start with but this is a far more complex (and potentially profitable) free spins round than you’d get on most slots. You can re-trigger free spins, get extra Wilds and accumulate more prizes in lots of other ways.

More bonuses

Yep, I’m not done just yet but read on because this is where you can get the all-important Progressive Jackpots.

These can be triggered at any time and you can get:

  • Chris’s Closet Bonus: Pick a door to reveal a multiplier that will be added to your win.
  • Brian’s Big Dig: Brian digs up multipliers and free spins from the back yard.
  • Stewie’s World Domination Jackpot Progressives: And yeah, here’s the big one. If you watch the show, you’ll know all about Stewie’s parallel universe hopping. Get this bonus and you will be instantly transported to a parallel universe where your aim is to kill Lois. Yeah, that would be his MOTHER Lois. I told you the show and slot could offend some people.

Subsequently, you will be able to win one of the six progressive jackpots up for grabs.

Family Guy slot has it all

Most mobile slots tend to focus on one bonus feature or one character. But IGT has gone ‘the whole hog’ here. Top class graphics and audio, multiple characters taking centre stage, clips from the show, lots and lots of bonus features AND six Progressive Jackpots waiting to be won.

I could go as far as saying that if you were to play just the one slot in order to see all the different stuff that the 100s of casino slots that exist have, this would be the one to play. There really is that much going on.

It’s an obligatory slot to play for anyone who enjoys the show and just any fan of slots in general, really.
