Stating the obvious when we say a new NetEnt slot is something to look forward to but it’s true as saying Trump’s hair isn’t all Trump’s.

Do you have the Spirit to venture into this Jungle?

In this slot review for G2G, you will dodge the bear, step over the crocodile and sidestep the Cobra as you enter a Jungle created by NetEnt in a slot that’s full of riches for those who don’t fear danger. Choose wisely in the free spins for the biggest rewards.

Let’s jump into what makes this top online casino game so great!

Bribes in exchange for video slot info

There are some funny expressions in English to do with time. Such as ‘time flies’ (it doesn’t and it’s an abstract concept anyway) or ‘it’s been a long day’ (all days are 24 hours long so by definition none of them is any longer than any other). So I won’t use any of those but I will say that I remember well trying to guess what the NetEnt slot Jungle Spirit: Call of the Wild might be all about in this review.

Thanks to a mole at NetEnt who is my secret informant and leaks information to me in return for bribes. So basically how the economy in Naples works – a bit like India, isn’t it? (Sorry, had to be done).

But let’s start with what I do know. I know that Jungle Spirit is available on desktop but also on just about any mobile device you can think of: iOS, Android, tablet, whatever. That’s just in the NetEnt ‘spirit’ to make sure you can play ‘on the go’ when it comes to Jungle ‘Spirit’.

Welcome to the Jungle. We’ve got wild animals…

I haven’t been allowed to play the Jungle Spirit: Call of the Wild slot yet but I have received some clues about what it’s all about.

Back in 1987 Guns N’Roses (who have their own slot) wrote:

‘Welcome to the jungle we got fun and games
We got everything you want honey, we know the names.’

That may well have been the case, Axl. But this jungle has some pretty cool animals instead and they appear in 3D. There’s a tiger, an elephant, a bear, a crocodile and a cobra. For us Indians, this is nothing new, isn’t it? Yeah, those are some pretty carnivorous animals going on there. The tiger is the highest value symbol, the cobra the lowest.

There isn’t a Wild Symbol as such, which I guess is a little ironic given that few casino slots can take place in a more ‘wild’ atmosphere than…in a Jungle!

But some symbols are marked by butterflies. We’ll see the relevance of that in the next section. There are, however, Scatter Symbols.

According to our mole, it’s a 5×3 reel slot in the base game. But that changes in the bonus game, ladies and gentlemen. The volatility is medium-high, the same you would find in Forbidden Throne or Wild Wild West.

How about this for a super cool element of the game? You can choose one of two soundtracks while you play: either loud banging drums (like the ones we see at our festivals and weddings) or the soothing sounds of nature, like taking a ride through the backwaters in Kerala

Take your pick in the free spins feature

Here’s what I said a few weeks ago about what the Jungle Spirit: Call of the Wild features may have been.

‘So if that’s the way NetEnt have been heading in recent times, this may be another slot where free spins will make or break your day.’

Free Spins

Well, was I right? I’m going to give myself 6/10. That’s because yes, the free spins feature looks to be the best way of securing a big win on the game. At the start of the round you have to choose from one of the five animals and you’ll get the corresponding number of free spins for that animal. They are:

  • Tiger – 4 free spins
  • Elephant – 8 free spins
  • Bear – 12 free spins
  • Crocodile – 16 free spins
  • Cobra – 20 free spins

So it’s worth always going for the Cobra, right? Well, not necessarily. You may get fewer spins with the Tiger and Elephant but the potential rewards on offer are far greater. It’s similar to Hugo, where you also get to choose from a selection of different types of free spins.

The animal you choose is what’s called the dominant Medium symbol. It will be the only Medium symbol on the reels during the free spins.

You get to the free spins by having three Scatter symbols but if you get four or five Scatters, you’ll get an instant bonus coin win of 15 (4 Scatters) or 50 (5 Scatters) times your bet.

Remember when we said that the reels changed during the bonus game? Or have you gone all Ghajini on us and forgotten?

In the base game they were 5×3 but here in the free spins, they increase to 5×4. Apparently, that increases the different ways to win to 1024 but in truth, that doesn’t really mean anything. It’s almost the equivalent of that scene in ‘Rain Man’ where Raymond always has 8 fish sticks for dinner on a Tuesday but Charlie (Tom Cruise) only bought him 4. So he cuts them all in half to make it 8!

The number of ways to win isn’t that important. What’s important is how often and how much you win.

Symbol Expansion Feature

The reason I gave myself 6/10 is that there are two other perfectly good bonus features, too.

You’ll also remember me talking about butterflies earlier. Certain symbols (never the Scatter) are marked by butterflies. If a butterfly-marked symbol is part of a winning combination (including during free spins), it expands to cover the entire reel.

Butterfly Boost Feature

So having butterfly-marked symbols is always great, right?

Wrong. Wow, these NetEnt guys like messing around with our heads like David Blaine after he drank too many Espressos.

Get yourself a win without any butterfly-marked symbols or Scatters on the reels and you might just activate the Butterfly Boost Feature. Butterflies will fly around the reels and will expand between 1 and 3 symbols that take part in a winning combination. The expanded symbol will cover the entire reel.

Great expectations, as per usual

I’m stating the obvious when I say that a new NetEnt slot is always something to look forward to but it’s true as saying that Trump’s hair isn’t all Trump’s.

Those 3D graphics look amazing and it’s been a while since there was a quality animal-themed slot to get stuck into. Those butterfly-related features look pretty exciting and we can’t wait to work out which of the free spins are worth going for when activated.
