July 2020: New Slots You Absolutely Must Play this Month!

Another great month of slot madness ahead of us

It’s that time again, slots fans!

There were some pretty epic slots released last month, including Microgaming’s Fortress Charge which I had a lot of fun with. But how does July hold up?

Play’n GO – Gold Volcano

Gold Volcano is a very interesting release from Play’n GO in that it completely moves away from their “classic” slot formula of using a neat and tidy grid.

Ok, so the theme for Gold Volcano might not be the most inspiring I’ve seen – but the features are where this slot really shines through. There are 4 really unique features to trigger in this game: Dormant, Pressure, Crystallization and Eruption.

You gotta love these names!

Each one of them is unique in its own right, and, when combined with a maximum payout of 10,000x and relatively high volatility I can assure you, this slot is worth checking out at your favourite online casino!

Microgaming – Mayan Eagle

I must admit, it was quite tricky having to choose just one Microgaming slot this month – there’s a lot coming out in July!

I eventually decided upon Mayan Eagle (which was developed alongside All41Studios) because, well it’s the highest paying slot to be released this month with a maximum payout of 13,000x.

It always has a new slot mechanic called the Nobleways mechanic which seems to be Microgaming’s answer to MegaWays.

This trademarked mechanic adds 15,625 fixed win ways over the game’s 6 reels. That is indeed a lot of ways to win. It’s not groundbreaking stuff, but it’s still really nice!

The game does lose some points in my books because of the infrequency of the free spins.

Your chances of triggering them are 1 in 434 – so you’re likely to go a long time before getting any.

Play‘n GO – Cat Wilde and the Doom of Dead

Yes, I know! Play’n GO are featured twice for July – but damn, this one needs to be mentioned!

Remember Rich Wilde in the Book of Dead? Of course, you do! Everyone knows the famous explorer who that holds a special place in online slot history.

Well, the Wilde is back once again – but this time it’s his daughter who will be on the front line looking to solve ancient mysteries.

I’m in two minds over what Plat’n GO are doing here. First, the “Book of” slots have been around of a long long time now. Why Play’n GO are still so adamant to keep going with it and not innovate sort of gets to me. But then again, this is a winning formula that works – so why change it?

I’m not going to lie, I love the Rich Wilde’s adventures and Cat? Well, Cat didn’t do too bad either. This one is definitely worth checking out.

NetEnt – Wonderland Protector

Next up is Wonderland Protector from beloved slot provider NetEnt

This one is interesting in both its aesthetics and the features it has.

Off the bat, this slot machine feels like it’s been made for Asian players. Of course, this isn’t a new concept for NetEnt but it gives you an idea of where they’re headed.

The game itself takes inspiration from the anime style of art and, to be honest, it looks like those mobile apps games that I see advertised to me on Facebook. The game looks amazing!

What about the game features? Let’s just say you should stick around until you trigger the free spins. You’ll be whisked off to one of three – Dark Forest, Fire Lands, or Ice Worlds – where you must take down waves of enemies and big bosses too. Now that’s entertainment!

Yggdrasil – Artefacts: Vault of Fortune

Let’s face it, whenever there’s a game brought out by software legends Yggdrasil, chances are it’s going to be great. Artefacts: Vault of Fortune is no exception to this!

These guys are known for innovating and while this particular slot falls short on this front, it’s still another solid addition to their library of games.

The game has decent mechanics (the dropdown mechanic is always nice to see) and some really nice features, including expanding wilds and free spins.

It’s definitely worth your time giving this a few spins.

What’s more a max payout of 11,000x means you could win really big on its reels too!

As I said, this doesn’t bring anything new to the table. But it does expertly combine features and mechanics already in existence. This one will surely stand the test of time.

It’s going to be another great month of slots!
