The 7 Sins slot is about to tempt you
Think of every feel-good and happy slot you’ve ever played. The likes of Secrets of Christmas or Aloha. Upbeat slots that bring you a warm, fuzzy feeling with their friendly characters and positive vibes.
Ok, now think of the exact opposite vibe. Think danger, temptation and a feeling of uneasiness. Whatever it is you’re thinking of won’t be too far away from the 7 Sins video slot is all about.
You and I both have been tempted by one or more of the 7 deadly sins at one stage or another in our lives. In this decadent casino slot, you’re reminded all too well about all of them. Are you ready to be confronted by your own inner demons?
A video slot that comes from the dark side
Play n’ Go are an experienced slots provider who is based in Sweden. They’ve been responsible for the release of over 50 unique slots. Not all of their games will admittedly be household names but some like Leprechaun goes to Egypt and Spin Party have gathered cult followings in the G2G free Slot Casino.
A few years ago they released a slot called ’Scandinavian Babes’. It’s hard to deny that game had some elements of lust to it and there were some pretty blatant examples of wrath (or anger if you prefer) in Troll Hunters.
So it was no huge surprise that with 7 Sins they made a slot that just went full out with the so-called capital vices or cardinal sins. Play’n Go seems to be in their element when it comes to games of that nature.
Play it at home on your desktop or carry all of the 7 vices around with you in your pocket and play the slot on your mobile.
The more sinful the better
Our obsession with the seven deadly sins has been around for centuries. Ever since Christian Monk by the name of Evagrius Ponticus, as far back as the 4th Century AD, first identified seven evil thoughts that good people should attempt to overcome.
We all seem to have a friend or acquaintance who seems to commit just about every one of them on a weekly basis. And if we look inside our souls, all of us are guilty of at least a couple of them every so often. No?
That third helping of lasagne at dinner? Yeah, that’s gluttony. That refusal to tell your partner that you’re sorry for staying out late last Saturday because you don’t want to admit you were in the wrong: pride. When your blood boils and your lip quivers at the sight of a colleague leaving a dirty plate in the sink rather than the dishwasher in the office. That would be wrath rearing its ugly head. The others are of course: lust, greed, envy and sloth.
Then, of course, there was the 1995 film ‘Seven’ where a serial killer commits murders inspired by them. Poor, poor Gwyneth Paltrow…
The sinful mechanics
This is a 5×3 reel slot with 243 ways to win. Each of the seven deadly sins is represented by a different female (why are they all female?) and I’d be lying if I said they weren’t all rather seductive and attractive. Oops, that would be lust.
There’s a Scatter symbol that’s very hard to describe. At first, we thought it looked like an Aladdin’s Lamp with an evil face. But apparently, it’s actually Pandora’s Box. Look it up if you’re into myths and legends, as it’s interesting stuff.
In this video slot, there are not one but two different Wilds. The Lucky 7 (appearing on reels 1, 3 and 5) and the Double Lucky 7, which appears on Reels 2 and 4. As per usual, they substitute all symbols except the Scatter.
If you’re going to have a game about sins, it follows that the more sinful you are…the better. So 7 of a kind (of the same sin), possible if you secure two Double Lucky 7s, leads to the biggest prize you can get.
The game has a real baroque feel to it in what is a beautifully designed game, accompanied by some typically eerie music. Fitting because this game is most certainly not about happy unicorns.
Face all your sins in the free spins feature
Whether slots take place in a happy place or one filled with temptation, they all have bonus features to talk of. So let’s do it.
Wild and Double Wild
I’ve told you what the symbols look like and where they sit but maybe I haven’t quite told you what they do. More precisely, the Double Lucky 7 counts as two Wilds. That means that getting a Double Lucky 7 symbol on Reel 2 practically guarantees you a decent win.
However much we’ve sinned, we all deserve a Second Chance. And that’s exactly what you get if you see two Scatter symbols appear rather than three. In this ‘game within a game’, you’re invited to choose from one of the seven temptresses that represent each of the sins. Some of them will reveal the Scatter you’re missing to make it three and activate the free spins. Others will reveal a Multiplier, that as the name suggests, will multiply the prize you just won by getting two Scatters.
The Multiplier will be between 2x and 15x the value of your stake when you got the two Scatters.
Very occasionally you won’t get a Multiplier at all, nor the third Scatter.
Nothing is likely to generate some wrath in you like that happening.
I’ve told you already that there are two ways to get them. Either directly by getting 3 Scatters or indirectly, via the Second Chance game.
You get…yeah you guessed it. Seven spins, one for each sin.
Each of the seven temptresses will take turns to remain Sticky on the middle reel and it’s random in which order they do it.
During each spin, only two symbols can appear on the other reels. Either the same symbol/sin as the one on the middle reel or a blank symbol that doesn’t do anything.
There’s also a Multiplier that goes up with each spin, all the way up to 7x. That means that the last two or three symbols are the ones that make or break the free spins round for you.
There’s some very weird chanting going on during the free spins, by the way. Just thought I’d mention it.
A breath of decadent fresh air in our Casino
Ok, confession time. Which is somewhat appropriate given this game is all about sins.
Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve had a load of Superhero-themed slots arrive at G2G (some would say one too many) and were just hoping for something that took an alternative direction. So it was extremely refreshing to try out a game that was completely different in every way.
The theme, graphics and general feel make this as tempting to try out as the seven deadly sins we’re all faced with every day. With only one real bonus feature, perhaps it’s not a slot you’d want to play for hours on end. But it’s definitely worth playing for at least a couple of hours because PNG has created something really original here.
